Red Cedar Hall Dorm Reviews at UW-Stout

Red Cedar Hall has pros and cons. I think it's the most expensive lodging option and the rooms are small. Fans are a NECESSITY it gets super hot in there. You will be sharing a unit with up to 3 other people (but you will have your own room) so be prepared for that. As for the pros, the location is pretty good. It's right across the street from a cafeteria/gym and there is a bus stop right outside. The building is quiet and the fire alarms hardly go off. If you want a laid back college experience away from the bustle of the main campus then I would recommend.

It's comparable to living in an apartment, but with the unique benefits of being a dorm. Three or four people to a suite, everyone gets their own bedroom, there's a mini kitchenette, a toilet room and a shower room. You provide your own toilet paper. It's right next to down town, but not in it, and it's a short bus ride or walk to the main campus. I've never had any problems with other residents, the walls between suites are pretty soundproof. Overall, great place.

Red Cedar is the highest cost dorm available at UW-Stout. The rooms are suite-style. This means the suite is shared between either three or four students. There will be either three or four bedrooms, a pantry, a toilet room, a shower room, a shared vanity, and a shared kitchenette with a living area. The privacy that it offers, as well as climate control and non-floor shared amenities like bathrooms, makes it quite worth it.
