Rhoads Dorm Reviews at VCU

I really enjoy the view that I have from my room. I am on the top floor, so I can see the amazing cityscape of Richmond. Rhoads is also in a nice location in relation to campus, so I can get places fairly quickly.

The rooms in Rhoads are kind of small, but it is one of the two dorms that offer lofted beds. The bathrooms are well managed. The dressers are deep, and the closet offers a good amount of space. Overall, Rhoads Hall is a good dormitory for freshmen.

It was nice! while it was sometimes not the cleanest, overall i would recommend it. There are only to washers and two dryers on each floor, which is somewhat inconvenient. however, it is placed great on campus, it is quiet, and relatively nice!

i got put with a creepy roommate and requested an immediate change and i was able to move floors and feel safer and more welcomed. i made lots of friends on my new floor and i never ran into any issues in the bathroom or laundry room.

I liked the community that you build in the dorms its a very inviting place. My only concerns are the cleanness of the showers and the lack of common areas and no kitchen in the building. I would of liked to see more common rooms in each floor as that is common in every other dorm on campus except Brandt. It gives you the real experience of what it is to be a in a traditional dorm setting. Another thing that is a problem is how much the dorms collect dust and sharing with other people the scapes can get dirty and you will get sick the first semester as your body is adjusting. I would recommend investing in a air-filter if possible.

Rhoads lacked things like a kitchen and better common areas. I like the quietness of the building. Rhoads is a descent place to stay for your freshman year, however there are better options. I had an good experience living here.

Compared to other dorms at neighboring schools, Rhoads is pretty decent. There is nothing special about it but i is very communal and connects to Brandt so you can meet a lot of people easily as a resident there.

At the beginning of the year, it was okay but towards the end before the pandemic closed it down and we were all forced to move out, the maintenance was sometimes randomly scheduled. There would be a scheduled time to clean the bathrooms, but the custodians would either come earlier or later and sometimes would forget to refill sanitary items like soap and paper towels and when our RA would call, it would take 1-2 days for them to show rather than the day of. Other than those, it was a fine experience, but hopefully they're more improved now.

It was overal an okay experience. It did get dirty on the weekends when people partied and janitors were not there to clean up. Rooms can be pretty tight if you really like your space. 18 floors total. Cost is not that bad. hallways can get noisy if you're trying to study. there is a community room in the lobby if you want some quiet or you can just go to the library.

My dorm experience was average. I lived in one of the oldest dorms on campus. My friends made my time fun because the majority of them lived in the same dorm as me. Also it was the cheapest dorm on campus so that was a perk.
