Southwest Hall Dorm Reviews at WKU

My experience with southwest residency hall has been a 50-50. The staff are really nice and are always willing to help the students, even over small issues. My biggest ick/problem with the dorms in SWRH as that the bathroom and shower have no vent fan. The flush in the toilet is also notoriously loud, and wakes up my roommates and I from our sleep-even if the person from the dorm across us is using the bathroom at night. On the positive side, the size of the dorm is generous for one person (individual room), and the lobby of the dorm is big enough to fit in 6 people which is double the intended capacity.

Southwest is the only real Co-Ed dorm ok UOP campus. The experience was actually really fun for many reasons. Reasons being my roommate and I got along great, my neighbors were friendly kinda having a βopen doorβ policy( where if we left our doors open itβs free for those to come in and hang or chat), and the common areas where really spacious and comfortable. Late nights, people tend to play video games in the common room or play video games but itβs always open for more people to come join. My RA was really friendly never really bothered students much and always kept the community fun and informative (bulletin boards up to date with information around campus and our hallways were always themedβ

Although Southwest may be one of the older dorm options, it offers other great opportunities. The location of Southwest was the best and it was closer to my class buildings than the other dorms were. Southwest hall is also very close to the grove which in convenient when you are hungry.

It was one of the nicer dorms on campus. But the dorms in general still were not great. It was for upper classmen, but still super outdated and not well kept. Also there was no elevator so moving my stuff in my room on the 3rd floor was a horrible experience.
