Yates Hall Dorm Reviews at William & Mary

Yates was a great dorm during the pandemic since it is the largest freshman dorm and therefore I had the most opportunities to meet people who lived near me. It has air conditioning, multiple lounges, a beautiful field, a volleyball court, and is in a great location on campus. However, the washing machines broke quite a bit and would often not be fixed for multiple days. There's also definitely cockroaches everywhere and we had multiple ant infestations that we had to set out traps for. The basement flooded a few times, but they are working on that and did not have residents down there this year. I lived on the first floor and while my hall was not usually noisy, there was considerable stomping and loud noises from upper floors nearly every night.

Yates is the largest freshman hall at William and Mary and can occasionally be noisy, particularly from the second floor. The best part is that it has the best air conditioning of all the freshman dorms and is located near the dining hall.

One of the better freshman forms as it is one of the few with air conditioning. The dorm is fairly big so it can be noisy. The location is not bad, the majority of the freshman dorms are located on the edges of campus.
